The premier Queensland boat show was held over four days, wrapping up last weekend. Overall the vibe was good considering many exibitors’ expectations were understandably low after a tumultuous 2009. Importantly sales were up, exhibitor attendance was up, and visitor numbers increased - surely a sign the marine industry is getting back
Trident Marine Insurance was prominently on show at it own stand alone booth. We handled a wide range of enquires from current and prospective clients. There was a notable increased interest in Bluewater Cruising and our own Bluewater Cruising insurance product is well structured for this market and we completed numerous proposals.
At the “big end of town” both Riviera and Maritimo had a wide range of boats on display with several new models being showcased. There was plenty of activity and interest around both sites and coupled with the recent favourable change in the $A exchange rate (for exporters) it looks like real buyer interest is returning to this market segment.
